The Culture Forge
Corley Moore, Firehouse Vigilance
Date: July 17 or 18 (1-Day Workshop)
Class Time: 0800-1700
Location: TBA
PPE: None
Corley Moore designed this unique and interactive full day workshop to be unlike any other class that has been taught in the American Fire Service. It first launched in July of 2024 at the Firemanship Conference in Aurora, IL.
The attendees will be guided in the development of their values, and learn the power of well-constructed value statements. They will engage in trust-building competitions and team exercises. This workshop is a highly interactive experience that features multiple group activities, each aimed at reinforcing key aspects of culture development.
Objectives:
To show that in the discussion of Mission, Vision, and Values, it is "mission" that needs the least amount of effort.
That Vision and Values are the key to developing a lasting and powerful culture.
Understanding the power of deliberately developed value statements.
Understanding that words mean nothing, it is your actions that give the weight.
The workshop closes with a team-building exercise where participants cheer for their own team as well as others, leaving them with a challenge: if they can create such esprit de corps in just a few short hours, imagine what their department could be like if this was in place for years!
